Sunday Morning Worship August 1: I Don't Want to Talk About It Jeff Rodriquez, Westside UU Church.
Unitarian Universalists and other liberal religions pride themselves on being open-minded and willing to hear other viewpoints. But how tolerant are we really? Jeff has some observations on this -- and he wants to talk about them.
Adult Forum August 1: Mary Cathcart will give a presentation on Heifer International. She is the Dallas/Fort Worth Lead Volunteer for this well known program.
Bible Workbench: 9:30 a.m. in Jaggers Library. There is no requirement that you 'know' anything
about the bible. W e are not the First Jefferson 'Bible
experts'. The reason we like this curriculum is because
it allows us to approach these scriptures in a
non-threatening way. We don't look for answers, or even
consensus. We don't debate. We just want to investigate
what this book is. You don't have to 'read in advance',
but here are the verses we will discuss for the next few
weeks: Aug 1: Luke 12:13-21; Aug 8: Isaiah 1:1, 10-20; Aug 15: Luke 12:49-56.

For only $7.00 per person, you will enjoy a baked ham dinner with all the trimmings, served between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. There will be a cake auction and each member church in the Eastside Ministry group is asked to donate 3 cakes for this. In addition we will have lots of good old gospel music, presented by talented groups from the member churches. Let's turn out, have a great time and help our neighborhood mission!
